The following helps tutorial is for grading assignments that do not have integrated marking guides. If your assignments have marking guides, please see our document on Grading Forums and Assignments with an Attached Marking Guide.
NOTE: All new courses and courses refreshed since 2015 have integrated marking guides. If you are unsure how your course is set up, please fill out an eLearning Support Request.
Grading With Module Grader
Access the Module Grader by selecting the Grade button on the assignment page.
Enter the grade in the Grade entry field (A). Refer to the syllabus for grading assignment rubrics.
Give assignment feedback in the Feedback comments section (B). To make the feedback comments box larger, select its expand / arrow icon (to dock the comments, select the icon again).
If you scroll down the right side of the page, below Feedback comments, you will find Feedback files where you can upload files to return to the student after your review.
To change the view of the page, choose between the three options: Collapse review panel, Restore default panel, and Collapse grade panel (C).
NOTE: You can grade within the expanded view or docked view. Enter any number within the maximum listed above the Grade entry field.
When you have finished grading the student, select Save changes.
A pop-up notification will show that you have successfully saved the student’s grades and feedback.
To finish grading your remaining students, go to the right-hand side of the page and select Change user from the pull-down menu (A). When you are finished, you can go back to assignment or to the course shell by selecting the course name or assignment title at the top of left-hand side of the screen (B).
NOTE: If you open up the Module Grader and you do not see any students available to grade in the menu, it may be due to your filters being turned on. Please make sure that you are showing “All” students in your assignment submission filter options.
